DURAFLEX makes two films, and the difference between them is not quality. It is fit. DURAFLEX SPF Ultra is the flagship, built for dense, robust surfaces like marble, dolomite, quartzite and engineered stone, with a strong adhesive and a 10-year warranty. But a strong adhesive that is perfect on dense marble is the wrong choice on a delicate or specialist surface. That is the reason DURAFLEX SPF Neo exists.
What SPF Neo is
Neo is a streamlined protection film designed specifically for delicate surfaces and table tops. It carries the same self-healing technology and heat resistance as Ultra, and the same clear, invisible protection. The crucial difference is the adhesive. Neo uses a gentle adhesive that is safe on surfaces where Ultra’s stronger bond would be too aggressive. Neo comes in a honed finish to suit natural matte surfaces, and carries a 5-year warranty.
The surfaces Neo is built for

Neo is the right film for travertine and limestone, the soft porous natural stones that cannot take an aggressive adhesive. It is also the correct choice for timber and timber tops, for older or aged marble where the surface is more fragile than new stone, and for specialist finishes including acrylic-coated surfaces and two-pack painted surfaces. These are the surfaces where the gentle adhesive is not a preference but a requirement.
How DURAFLEX chooses between Ultra and Neo
The decision is made by the surface, not the customer. Dense, sound marble, Carrara, Calacatta, dolomite, quartzite, granite and engineered stone take DURAFLEX SPF Ultra. Delicate and specialist surfaces, travertine, limestone, timber, aged marble, acrylic and two-pack finishes take Neo. When you book an assessment, the installer identifies the surface and specifies the correct film. Choosing the wrong film is one of the Marble Anxiety™ risks DURAFLEX exists to remove, so getting this right is part of the job.
The right film depends on the surface
DURAFLEX SPF Neo is built for delicate and specialist surfaces where a gentler adhesive is essential. Obligation-free estimates across Australia.
What does not get filmed at all

One more piece of honesty that matters. DURAFLEX does not apply film to porcelain or ceramic surfaces. Those materials do not need surface protection film, and the film will not bond reliably to them in any case. If your surface is porcelain or ceramic, the right advice is that you do not need us, and we will tell you so.
Installed by specialists either way
Both films are installed by automotive-trained installers, heat-sealed at every edge, with no chemicals during installation. Both are independently fire-tested by CSIRO to AS/NZS 1530.3 and made with food-safe materials. The film changes with the surface. The standard of installation does not. If you are unsure whether your surface needs Ultra or Neo, the fastest answer is to ask.
